Associaçao Chapecoense

Chapencoense, Associação Chapecoense de Futebol, commonly known as Chapecoense and whose acronym is ACF, is a Brazilian football club, based in the city of Chapecó. The club was founded in 1973 with the goal of restoring football in the city, and won the state championship, the Campeonato Catarinense, for the first time in 1977. The club is still rebuilding following a major airplane accident in which it lost its team in 2016.

The club's home matches are played at Arena Condá, with 20,000 seats.

The club is represented by Presidente Nei Maidana (President) and Paulo Pagliari (Vice-President), Alex Passos (CEO) and joined GFA on the 11th of May 2021. It is our 13th GFA member club.

Neto Zampier (international ambassador of Chapecoense) visited the AS Saint-Etienne club. He met Laurent Huard (at the left in the picture), who is currently technical director of the AS Saint-Étienne training center. Neto (at the middle in the picture) is one of just six survivors in the crash of LaMia Flight 2933, which killed 71 people including 19 Chapecoense players.
